FINALE-THE REBIRTH OF MARY SHORT FILM

I teamed up with a girl who studies film at the university, and she filmed myself and casey re creating Bloody Mary, however my version of it. I did both the hair and makeup, and sums up what i aimed to achieve in both my looks. I hope you enjoy watching it as much as i do!

Evaluation-

My third term most probably has been the best for me, as i feel i have improved greatly on both my practical and experimentation skills. In previous terms, i was scared to try out new things and my final images had to be perfect, however during this semester, i have gained the courage to try out new products, and new skills. This can be shown by my image for Bloody Mary, with the black liquid falling from the mouth. I loved mixing liquids and makeups to see what could be the best outcome. I also feel that i have had much more time in the studio, where i myself can practice on models, and the term has been more practical than theoretical, thats why i have enjoyed it so much! My two images are completely different, one being scary and full of gore, and the other creating a sorrowful and angelic feeling, both being gothic in their own ways.
I am extremely pleased with my final outcomes., and glad i chose Bloody Mary as my urban legend. There is a lot of inspiration and progression behind the images, which is shown through my blog posts, however, i could of concentrated more on the styling side of the images.
Overall, this year has taught me many new things. Not only the makeup side, but also the background information and inspiration that is behind images. My time management skills have also improved.  It has flown past so quickly, and there have been good times and bad, but most important of all, i have grown as an individual, and feel i am much more confident in myself to develop and continue with the skills i have learnt for the future.

FINAL IMAGES FOR LOOK TWO (VICTIM)

( The White thing is a bunch of feathers covered in blood by the way )

Practice for look 2 (Victim)

Below i prracticed on myself the curling on hair and pinning it on top, and the red eye liner and mascara. I love the effectiveness of the eyes, it makes me look ill.

Airbrushing-Technical Lesson

Health and safety, & Tips:
  • Well ventilated area
  • Check pressures before use
  • Cover model with wrap
  • Must have parents permission when airbrushing anyone under 16
  • Do NOT airbrush over any open wounds
  • Always take spare needle and nossle cap on shoots, they both ware out and the needle could break or split
  • Treat the airbrush with care as they are delicate
  • For older people, be very careful with the amount placed around the eyes, as it could have a reverse effect
  • The last colour used is always the one that stays in the needle
  • Take expensive shoes, clothing and jewelry of as it could spray everywhere
  • Makeup face to face, not infront of a mirror
  • Pressure should not be above 12
  • Talk your way through the makeup
  • Do not let the model breathe in the spray
  • Be aware of beards and eyebrows
  • No cross contamination

Products:
  • All products whatever base must not be thicker than semi skimmed milk
  • Water based/Alcohol based/Silicone based
  • Alcohol based-great for continuity because it stays on skin, however caution has to be caused on the face
  • Use silicone to cover up bruises and tattoos
  • For fashion and HD TV- Airbrushing always works well
  • Brand-Temptue
  • Silicone drys quickly and is based with plastic inside. It has a ball bearing inside so it breaks the lumps up, however it has to be shaken well before use.
  • Place a tiny bit of thinner first to see if airbrush is working
  • Mix colours together as you would a normal base
  • Test the colour on the side of the face as you would a traditional base
  • To mix the bases, cover end with tissue, unscrew the nossle cap, and gently pull back the lever until the colours start to bubble.
  • Always stretch the neck up when airbrushing

Cleaning:
  • 99% of problems in airbrushing is because they are not cleaned properly
  • Clean airbrush straight away, as both silicone and alcohol products have properties inside that dry and this ruins the needle.
  • Empty the colour cups excess paint
  • Add cleaning soltuion
  • Wipe the cup with tissue paper or cotton buds
  • Add more solution to the cup
  • Spray cleaner into a tissue through the airbrush until it sprays clear
  • Clean excess with tissue

model for look 2-Alyse

Alyse is going to be my beautiful model for my second look of the Bloody Mary project. I chose Alyse due to her hair being the perfect colour and length (not to long or short) for the image i am aiming for. Her pale complexion also helps, as mentioned before, i want to create an angelic/victimised mood.
