Eyebrowless look inspiration-

Another idea for my 'Victim shoot' tomorrow is to take out her eyebrows. Ive been looking of makeups where the eyebrows have been taken out, either for editorial images or for the runway. Taking out the eyebrows enhances the deepness of the eyes, which will be the main focal point in my shoot tomorrow. I think a natural complexion with strong conturing along with no eyebrows will be a good look for my victim tomorrow.
“Eyebrows frame the face, frame the eyes,” says Ramy Gafni, makeup artist and owner of New York City’s Ramy Spa.

Caseys Shoot

When shooting on Wednesday, the makeup in my opinion looked fab, and Casey turned out to be a sexy Bloody Mary. SHE LOOKED HOT. I completly changed the hairstyle, and styled it up, with a platt at the back and pinned it so she had an odd shaped fringe. This gave the image a more gothic theme. I loved experimenting to see what would look best.
I ended up using Gelatine-Gelglyk(screen face)  mixed with black eyeshadow and chocolate sauce. (the chocolate sauce was so it tasted better haha). I also coloured her teeth to make them look even more grosem.
I warmed the Gelglyk in a pot of water and warmed it for 40 seconds in the microwave. Always check the temperature on the back of the hand before use.
My model was brilliant. I placed the gelatine in her mouth and made her dribble it out. She did amazingly well to keep a straight face and still pose for the camera.
Heres a sneak peak of how the mouth looked;

The feather-

Above is some more clips from Ed Sheerans Give Me Love music video. I love the idea of the feather with blood dripping down.
I have looked at some historical meanings of the white feather, and many say its a symbol of pacifism and peace, and others a blessing.
Seems as though my look for tomorrows shoot is going to be the victim on Bloody Mary, i may use the feather to signify this. Yet again, the contrast with the red and white.
I like how the feather is focused in the image, and the female is blurred in the background, however you can still see her beautiful features. I will try this in my shoot tomorrow and see how it goes.

I bought some white feathers from fabric land, and dipped them in blood. They are a bunch of feathers, to give it more of a twist to my inspiration from above:

Give me love

Another music video that i am inspired by is Ed Sheerans Give me Love video. The main focus is on the girl, whos makeup i love. I like how beautifully odd the video is. She is stunning, and looks as if she is wearing hardly nothing
With my second look, i am trying to achieve is a perfect complexion, as if the model is not wearing any at allI also hope to find a model with the same hair colour, similar to Ellie Gouldings video. Here are some Screenshots to show the makeup;

The photo above is found here- http://weheartit.com/entry/43211680/via/marrybruno

Another thing i love about the video is the opening, when the female is laying there in her blood. The contrast between the blood and her angelic figure creates such a delicate and pure image.

Wild

I was bored in my room yesterday, and came up with this really wild and crazy idea of painting my mirror with makeup, and trying to make it spooky. I like the effect the images have, the colours used, and the relation it has with the theme running through my project. I used:

  • Black, red, and wine colour Aquacolour.
  • Red and Black Lipmix, MAC
  • My hands, to smother all the makeup around the mirror.

This looks like someone has been slaughtered against the mirror, and wicked Mary has had her revenge.

Broken Mirror

This image sums up my whole project, and i think its a great way to have one of my final images. The broken mirror with the hand and the blood flowing really fits in with Bloody Mary, as the whole story is based on looking into a mirror. I might experimenting with a broken mirror, even though it does give you 7 years bad luck, so what would be easier is to photoshop an image making it seem as if Mary is in the mirror. This will be fun. I love attempting new things.

Wounds Bruising and Scrathing Technical Lesson

How and when did the person injure themselves?
Dont cross contaminate
Lids on materials at all times
It’s best to create the look while looking at a real life image. Continuity is really important as the color and wounds will look different when the time gone. Discuss with the director about how the actor/actress gets injured in the film, this will help you design the look of the wounds. The sharp points of the body are the places where injured the most!

Bruising&Scratching:
  • Black stipple sponges
  • Dont go beyond sockets
  • Moisturise
  • Use Fingers
  • Use the rounded brush at the end
  • Dark blues, purples, yellows and greens
  • Grease paint
  • To create a swollen bruise, add vaseline
  • Continuity is key for bruising, to see what stage the bruise is at
  • No powder used
  • When an individual breaks their nose, they get two black eyes

Wounds:
  • Palette knife
  • Gelglyk blood-Screenface
  • Ben Nye bruise wheels
  • No moisturiser
  • Plasto
  • Gelglyk-Screenface
  • Wound filler
  • Screen blood (mixed with gelatine)Can mix coffee and other materials in with the blood
  • Puss
  • Blood capsuals for mouth
  • Collodion-Can press a pin into it, however it CAN burn on the face
  • Tooplast (can colour over the top)
  • Heat gelatine in bowl of water in microwave for about 40 seconds until melted
  • Always check temperature of gelatine on the back of the hand before use
  • Cold water to cool down
  • Use rice crispies and spirit gum for warts
  • Can use tinted powder
  • With a scar, many colours need to be used
  • Burns need to be as shiny as they can
  • Can colour over the top of Gelatine
  • Tissue can be added for better effect

Interpretation

Here is an interpretation of the 'Anything Could Happen' music video. It is a painting of a nose bleed in watercolours. As you can see from my recent posts, i love watercolours.

Casey/Tomorrows Shoot

Casey will be my model for tomorrows shoot. As she was raised into a Filipino family, her dark features will be great for this project. Her long dark hair and dark, almost cat like eyes instantly give an obscure, lurid look.
I absolutely love this image that i found on tumblr, and am hoping to show this(somehow) in my final images tomorrow.
To create this, i am going to use:
Flour
Black Food Colouring
Water

My final image will be shot in black and white, as it is something different, which i have never done before, and corresponds well with the atmosphere.
I plan to whiten casey's skin tone, which is a difficulty as her skin tones are already quite dark. The black falling from the mouth will contrast against the white skin and create an effective image, (hopefully). Photoshop will also be used to contrast even higher.
Casey's eyes will also be blackened out, so it has a more edgy feel to the image, and as Bloody Mary is a fantasy character, the features wont be as clear like that of a normal image.
The hair will be straight, and some photos will be taken with the hair covering a proportion of the face, and others with the hair hanging down at the sides. Maybe crimped at the ends, centre parting, i am going to experiment.
I dont want to have to much, as the mouth will be the main focus. I want the viewers to say EWWW.
I painted an image just like the one above, showing liquid falling from the mouth, using watercolour and ink.
Capturing the falling liquid will  be difficult, but i am going to try my hardest and see what the outcome is.

Anything Could Happen

I am really inspired by this music video when Ellie herself has the blood dripping from her nose. Its so simple yet effective, and also the contrast of the deep red blood against her pale skin. Her eyebrows are nearly taken out, which makes more focus on the bleeding nose and less on the eyes.
I will have to find a model with fair skin and light hair.
Here are some screen shots of the video of the look i would like to portray:

FREAK

A painting i did of a inside lip tattoo with a gothic feel to it.
I love the intensity of the veins.

Watercolours+Ink Pen

Valentina Brostean

I came across the artist Valentina Brostean during my research, and think the artwork is greatly relevant with my project. Brostean discusses her intimate visions of heartbreak, sexuality and isolation, however with the use of warm colours, she creates a melancholic atmosphere throughout her illustrations.
I particually like these two images, as the blood is weeping from the eyes, which is one of my ideas for the final look:

I then interpreted this in my own way by finding a black and white magazine image and added red watercolour to it. I will follow on this with facecharts:
I love the contrast with the red against the black and white.

Colour Palette

The colours that i will be using in one of my looks will be BLACK, WHITE, and RED.

Face Chart

Creating this face chart took me back to the days of GCSE Art, when you blew through a straw to make crazy patterns, so thats what i did here.
With watercolours, i made the eyes and mouth look as if they were bleeding. I love the effect its made, as it seems to be wild and spooky. You could also say that the black paint looks like trees in a horror film. This with pale white skin and a red lip will look great i think.
I will try and see how it looks.

Here is another face chart that i drew which i would like to try out with an airbrush. It is influenced by the Chanel Haute Couture S/S 2013, with Peter Phillips (makeup artist for the collection) making the focal point as the eyes.

Jennifers Body

Years ago i watched Jennifers body, written by Diablo Cody and directed by Karyn Kusama. The sexy horror film with a wicked sense of humor, is about small town high school student Jennifer, who is possessed by a hungry demon. She transitions from being "high school evil" - gorgeous, stuck up and ultra-attitudinal - to the real deal: evil/evil. The glittering beauty becomes a pale and sickly creature jonesing for a meaty snack, and guys who never stood a chance with the heartless babe, take on new luster in the light of Jennifer's insatiable appetite. Meanwhile, Jennifer's lifelong best friend Needy, long relegated to living in Jennifer's shadow, must step-up to protect the town's young men, including her nerdy boyfriend Chip.
I thought i would add this too my blog, as Megan Fox's (Jennifer) character/look reminds me of Mary. A bloody mouth, haunting atmosphere etc. I love the effect the blood has on the white jacket in the first picture, and the blood dripping from the mouth down the neck in the second.

Here is the trailer;

Hands on

In one of my final images, i hope to give the model a bloody hand/arm. I started doing a hand painting, however i went a bit OTT and decided to paint my hand with watercolour and stamp it onto paper, to see the outcome. I was quite pleased, and decided to take some images to show you.
